'Scuse the rough edges

This site is being put together at the same time as a global change is taking place. The response to COVID-19 is the biggest thing that's happened in my life time. It relates to my new chosen endeavour to bring more and better remote working to the world (Hooray!), but it also completely changes the landscape I was just about to step in to (Boo!).

I want to stay true to my values.

I also want to do something valuable. Something that helps at least some of the people thrown into turmoil by Coronavirus.

So, whereas my plan was to get my thinking straight and build up some content here that articulates my position, actually I've thrown up a website that (if I'm honest) I'm not completely proud of

That's my first opportunity to stick to my values. As someone who values the Lean approach, getting something up and running - even with rough edges, and even when I don't know exactly where it's headed - is a practice I believe to be valuable. So, I'm practising what I preach!

My second opportunity to practise what I preach, is to show my work in progress, to work out loud. An important principle of remote working is to avoid constructing a safe bubble for yourself. It's necessary to put yourself and your work 'out there' - even where that requires overcome tendencies and sensitivities (like I'm sensitive to criticism of things I already know can be better!). In doing so, I'm making myself vulnerable - sharing half-baked ideas in this case - and trusting that you (whoever you are!) will treat me kindly and offer me help where you can.

So! Here we go! See you on the other side - wherever that turns out to be!
